About Us
I am an Associate Professor at New Mexico Highlands University, where I conduct research in evolution, landscape ecology, and genetics. My husband, Dr. Jesus Rivas, is also a professor at NMHU. Finding two academic jobs near each other was a challenge for us, like most people in this situation. Jesus specializes in wildlife ecology and animal behavior. We both are driven by our shared love for reptiles, amphibians, and conservation!
We really enjoy conducting field work in Venezuela. My mother and Jesus are from Venezuela, so it is always wonderful to visit. We live in rural New Mexico where we are raising our daughter and have two dogs, one snake, many fish, and four pet chickens. You can find out more about Jesus Rivas' work here: www.anacondas.org |
